Psychosomatik – Wie Gedanken und Gefühle die Gesundheit beeinflussen

Headaches, back pain, irritable bowel syndrome: what we feel can also affect our body.

In psychosomatic illnesses, mental stress causes physical reactions. Because chronic stress, trauma or unprocessed feelings can trigger physical problems.

Modern therapies aim to no longer strictly separate body and mind. In body therapy e.g. B. it's about feeling your own body and experiencing its limits. In the tapping technique, the psyche is intended to be influenced by tapping on individual parts of the body.

MBCT
Mindfulness for depression and anxiety

MBCT “Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy”

Through training in mindfulness practice, practitioners recognize how their own depression contributes

Thoughts and feelings take on a life of their own and they also notice the accompanying physical sensations.

The focus is on raising awareness and examining cognitions, attitudes and behavior patterns that cause the depressive experience.

MBCT strengthens friendly self-awareness to get out of these thought loops and turn to helpful actions with self-care.

MBCT has been proven to greatly reduce the risk of relapses. Practicing mindfulness promotes a more conscious awareness of moods, thoughts, feelings and physical sensations so that early warning symptoms can be noticed in good time.

This mindfulness intervention has also been used very successfully as an 8-week program for people affected by cancer.

The intensive MBCT program combines the basic elements of MBSR with cognitive behavioral therapy techniques. In addition to the special exercises (meditations and mindful physical exercises), the program includes basic information on depression and anxiety, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) exercises that emphasize the connection between thinking, feeling and actions.

In doing so, the practitioners develop an inner attitude of mindfulness for themselves and for external circumstances and experiences. A self-care strengthening of one's own resources is developed.

This is how mindfulness exercises help to deal with chronic pain

Around 23 million people in Germany are affected by chronic or recurring pain. On average, it takes at least two years (I) until you receive appropriate pain therapy. They have usually already tried various treatments and medications during this time, often without real success.

8 week MBSR course

Mindfulness is the awareness that arises when we pay attention to experience in the present moment without judgment. It helps us become aware of thoughts and feelings without becoming trapped in them.

We all have this ability, of course, and we can train ourselves through practice to bring mindfulness to the moments in our lives more often and more systematically.
